Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
Mhara is a brand of 2MA Ventures Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect on https://mhara.in, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and PIN code, the product and pack you order, and your UPI transaction reference (UTR) if you pay by UPI.
- Account: if you log in, your email address and the delivery details you save, so you can reorder in one tap.
- Messages: what you send us on WhatsApp or email, including photos or videos of a damaged jar.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser type when you place an order or log in, kept only for fraud prevention and security.
Why we use it
- To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your order and to confirm it with you on WhatsApp or email.
- To verify your UPI payment against our bank statement.
- To send login codes, order updates and — only if you switch it on — a jar reminder email.
- To respond to your questions and resolve delivery issues.
- To meet legal requirements (invoices, tax records).
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use it for advertising. We only share it with the courier that delivers your order (name, phone, address) and with our bank/payment provider as needed to verify payment.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as required by Indian tax and accounting law (currently up to 8 years). Messages are kept as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and withdraw consent for anything that is not required by law. Write to contact@mhara.in or WhatsApp +91 93624 29093. We respond within 7 working days. Our Grievance Officer can be reached at the same email.
Cookies and storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site uses a login cookie when you sign in, and may store small technical settings in your browser (for example your language) that never leave your device.
Analytics cookies
Only if you choose “OK, allow” on the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to count visits and to see which ghee people look at and buy, so we can make the site better. It then sets first-party cookies (named _ga) that hold a random ID and last up to 6 months. Google receives the pages you open, your device and browser type, an approximate location from your IP address and, for an order, the order number, the amount and the products in it. We never send your name, phone number, email or address, nothing is used for advertising and nothing is sold. If you choose “No thanks”, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Your choice is kept for 180 days in a cookie named mh_consent; change it any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Blog reading statistics
When you read an article in our Ghee Guide, our own website counts the visit so we know which articles are useful. For each article and day we record: the article, the time you opened it, how many times you opened it, roughly how long it stayed on your screen, whether you reached the end, and whether you clicked through to a ghee or gift box. We also record your device type, operating system and browser, the website or app that sent you (for example Google or WhatsApp), and your IP address, from which we work out your approximate country and Indian state. This uses no cookies. Your browser keeps one random reading ID (in its local storage, named mh_rid) so that reading the same article twice in a day counts you once; it contains nothing about you, and you can clear it any time by clearing your browser's site data. Your full IP address is kept for 30 days only and then deleted automatically; after that only a shortened form (with the last part hidden) remains. This information is used only to count readers and improve our articles. It is never sold, never shared with anyone and never used for advertising. Country and state are looked up on our own server from the free database "IP Geolocation by DB-IP" (db-ip.com); your IP address is not sent to them or to anyone else.
Meta Pixel (advertising cookies)
Only if you choose “OK, allow” on the cookie notice, we also use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) so that we can show our ghee on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to people who have visited mhara.in, and see which of those ads lead to orders. It then sets first-party cookies (named _fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad) that last up to 6 months. Meta receives the pages you open, the products you look at (by product code, for example MH-COW-1KG), when you start checkout and, for an order, the order number, the amount and the products in it, along with your browser type and IP address. We never send your name, phone number, email or address to Meta, and we do not sell your data. Meta may combine this with what it already knows about your Meta account under its own privacy policy. If you choose “No thanks”, the Meta Pixel is not loaded at all. You can change your choice any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Order data is stored on secured servers in India with restricted access.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
